LYING AROUND opens October 12

Lying Around will be opening the UTS 10th Anniversary Season on Thursday, October 12th and will run until Saturday October 21st. The play, translated from Arthur Schnitzler's "Reigen", is directed by Anthony van Winkle. The shows will be in the Cabaret Theatre Thursday through Sunday at 8pm with a closing, midnight show on the evening of Saturday the 21st.

Tickets are available at a DISCOUNTED back-to-school rate of $5 for UW students as well as the standard $7 for students and $10 for general admission.

Please reserve your tickets at lyingaround@uwuts.org 24 hours prior to performance. The ticket office will open an hour before performances.

The audience travels from one scene to another as characters travel from one soft bed to another. Despite the large cast, never more than two characters inhabit the comfortable space of the stage. Lying Around incorporates the intimate scope of the Cabaret Theatre to draw the audience into the journey of each character. Director Anthony van Winkle uses his technical and design background to bring a sense of visual splendor to this sexually charged work. Lying Around is van Winkle’s own translation from Arthur Schnitzler’s German play, titled “Reigen” (The Circle Dance) which was banned for nearly 25 years due to its suggestive themes.

UTS Fall Orientation

UTS will present two orientation sessions with BA Council and DUDS (Developing Undergraduate Drama Students).

3:30-5:00 in the CAB
*There is a BBQ to follow the Friday session

These orientations are designed to help you get to know the School, get involved and get the most out of your time at the UW. It is a great opportunity to meet faculty and other students, ask questions, and generally be welcomed to the School of Drama.
